Musical contributions for a Finnish Zeitgeist inspired documentary Ajan henki. Not all of the tracks on this reel were used. Besides music created for the occasion sarana live sets were employed for certain scenes.
I also created the Dolby Digital 3.1 mix for the final sound track and post-processed the sound.
Recording, foley effects, mix and sound design for Anni, an indie feature film. The film was directed by Jussi Einola and produced by Joonas Einola.
Besides the film mix I also mixed and mastered the music and created a few original pieces using material from the composer (Simo Salo).

The video depicts a scene from a short feature ‘Astronautti’, which was directed by Topias Parkkonen. The sound player has the complete sound track, which consists of five pieces. The first four pieces are tied together by one low frequency sound. When the protagonist is releaved from his childhood traumas in the ending scene by the help from a girl he has fallen in love with, the low frequency sound ceases to haunt him.
The melodies and other material from various analogue synthesizers were recorded straight to the sound editor without much rehearsal or careful composing. The film was played on the screen at the same time and the feeling of the scenes and the story intuitively transformed into music.
The method didn’t allow any midi sequencing, because there wasn’t any specific tempo set and the sounds of various synthesizers was directly recorded. During the editing phase the sounds were further processed and cut to fit better to the events of the film. The method was fast, sensitive and intuitive, and the result organic and fitting.

This is a two minute excerpt of the 16 minute track. The artist needed music for her Christmas themed performances. Besides the holiday feel the track needed to convey S/M overtones, and be exciting enough to make her move.
I began the work by playing with the notes of Jingle Bells, and soon the basslines revealed themselves. The rhythm is relaxed but able to carry the action forward. Slowly and definitely the details and structures appear. Tribal and ancient elements add to the suggestive and tempting mystery, which teasingly stays just out of reach.
The music sets and supports the stage, but doesn’t take it.

Talvisoolo (Winter solo) was composed for an acrobatic fire performer (a member of Trio Taika). The track was created in co-operation with Visa Oscar. The world freezes and thaws in a dialogue with a fiery soul.

An ambient soundscape created for the opening evening of an independent movie theater. Soundscape tuned the audience in to the atmosphere of the movie in question – Nuovomondo. Kino Tapiola wished the soundscape to rise subliminally from the ambient noise of the theater surroundings. Four minutes of ambient noise have been cut from the beginning.

This work was a part of my thesis project, in which I had volunteered to be the sound designer for Dragonbane; a Live-Action Role Play of huge proportions realized in the woods of rural Sweden. The concept and synopsis of the film was partially written by me.
A school project for a sound design course. The subject was the idol cave sequence from Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark.
This was a group assignment where we wrote the sound design and created the foley and a few other sounds together. I compiled, mixed and mastered the soundtrack, and created the music as well as the executive sound designer.
The sound design and music production for the first Dragonbane video production. The explosions were extracted from a weak dv-recording of certain earlier live-action role play, and heavily processed to serve the purpose. Perttu Leinonen acted as the assistant sound designer.
